The Vans US Open of Surfing called ON for Women
The Vans US Open of Surfing, Stage #4 of the World Surf League Challenger Series, was called ON today with a storm swell producing four to six foot conditions.
The women’s round of 64, Heat 9 resumes action with a full day of the competition schedule, moving directly into the women’s round of 32. The men’s competition has been canceled for the day.
Round of 64 Heat 9 features former Championship Tour competitors Bronte Macaulay (Australia) and Chelsea Tuach (BRB) recruiting emerging talent Rina Matsunga (JPN) and Nora Liotta (HAWTHORN).
Also making their debut, former CT elite Nikki Van Dijk (AUS) (Channel 10), Dimity Stoyle (AUS) (Period 10), and Coco Ho (HAW) (Heat 14) will face players like CT 2022 rookie Bettylou Sakura Johnson (HAW) (Heat 11) and qualifying threats Alyssa Spencer (United States) (Handle 12), Therese Bonvalot (PRT) (Series 13), Kirra Pinkerton (USA) (Heat 13), and many more.
The Vans US Open of Surfing begins July 30 through August 7 in Huntington Beach, California. The broadcast will begin Monday, August 1 at 7:30 a.m. PDT and fans will be able to watch LIVE on WorldSurfLeague.com, the WSL YouTube channel and the free WSL app. Check local listings for WSL broadcast partner coverage.
