Certified trainers and lifeguards will help people who dream of surfing

Yas Waterworld, a one-of-a-kind water park on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, has brought back its Flow Club segment, which offers surf lessons.

Surfing, known to be the ultimate sport that creates immense feelings of freedom and adventure, also provides great exercise and endless fun.

Ryan Watkins, Managing Director of Yas Waterworld, said: “We are very happy to bring back the Flow Club as it allows us to nurture local talent and improve the surfing scene here in the UAE.”

Like any sport, surfing takes training, dedication and practice. Taking place every Sunday, certified trainers and lifeguards will help people who dream of surfing learn the sport at their own pace.

“Our certified trainers and multiple waves at varying intensities ensure that beginners and advanced surfers alike have the perfect conditions to ride the waves,” noted Watkins.

As part of the pre-surf routine, a quick warm-up with stretching sessions on foil waves is necessary to ensure a stable position on the board. The trainers will then teach the basics and help get familiar with the board. Beginners can first learn about bodyboarding with a ‘rush rider’ and then, once advanced, move on to the ‘bubble barrel’ – the largest surf sheet in the world.

Surfers can sign up for Flow Club at the Yas Waterworld ticket office or make reservations by visiting www.yaswaterworld.com.

The water park is also home to more than 45 exhilarating rides, slides and attractions, as well as a variety of seasonal events and shows. Customers are required to show a valid green pass on the Al Hosn app.
